Tuesday, the Accord Party in Lagos State congratulated Governor Sanwo-Olu on
the beginning of his second term as governor of the state.
Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, were congratulated on their inauguration by the party's chairman for Lagos State, Mr. Dele Oladeji.
The party, according to Mr. Oladeji in a statement, would keep the governor and his lieutenants on their toes.
Oladeji exhorted Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat to follow through on the "New Rising Lagos State" they had promised.
"The overwhelming support for the governor is a testament to and commendation of the duo's four years of administration, as well as a certification that he stood head and shoulders above all other candidates in the race for governor of Lagos State.
"As residents of Lagos, we promise to always be there for the people's governor and to provide all necessary assistance in making him successful.
He declared, "As the opposition party, we will always keep Mr. Governor, his deputy, and other state and local government functionaries on their toes."
In order to improve good governance, people-centred socioeconomic policies, welfare, and wellbeing, as well as the prosperity of Lagos residents, the chairman said that the action had become necessary.
"We advise Mr. Governor to diligently work to raise the average family wealth rating of every resident of Lagos.
He must also advocate for measures that will boost the microeconomic indicators in Lagos State, with a particular emphasis on small-scale trade, commerce, and cottage industries.
We will always stand for a bigger Lagos State, said Oladeji.
