After strangling the intruder who
threatened and raped her in her home and broke into her house, Roxana was
sentenced to prison for "excessive use of self-defense."
While acknowledging that the
23-year-old was a victim of rape, the State of Mexico court said that they
thought "a blow to the head" would have been sufficient to defend
her.
According to reports, the mother of
one was detained by police in May 2021 after she was seen attempting to drag a
bag carrying the chopped-up remains of her attacker.
She got into the terrible scenario,
according to AL-LABEEB MEDIA, because she found the man lost on the street and
gave him a place to stay.
"It was either my life or his
life," the woman stated. She stated, "I only wanted to defend my life
from a rapist," adding that she acted out of panic.
The male was raped by her when she
woke up in the middle of the night, the court heard.
She struck him in the face,
bleeding him from the nose.
She took a T-shirt and used it to
choke him to death while he was preoccupied.
"Justice makes me unhappy and
disillusioned. In one of Mexico's most dangerous municipalities for women,
Nezahualcóyotl, Ruiz informed the media that she would have died if she had not
defended herself in court.
