Capt. Rabiu Yadudu, managing director of
the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has been fired by the federal
government.
In the meantime, Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed has
been chosen to serve as the FAAN's new managing director and is scheduled to
start work next week.
Prior to his appointment, the new FAAN leader
served as the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Regional General
Manager, North Central.
In January 2022, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi
Sirika, nominated him as Chairman, Aviation Roadmap Implementation Committee,
which he paired with his role as General Manager, Special Duties at FAAN.
According to sources, similar exercises would
be conducted by the National Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), the Nigerian
Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), and other organizations.
