PRESIDENT TINUBU RESUMES ASO ROCK, MEETS WITH EMEFIELE, GBAJABIAMILA, AND OTHERS

On Tuesday, May 30, President Bola Tinubu met with Mr. Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and Mr. Mele Kyari, group chief executive officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

This was the President's first official task following his inauguration as the nation's 16th President at Eagle Square, Abuja.

The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Tijjani Umar, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the departing Director of Protocol, DOP, welcomed him when he arrived at the State House forecourt at around 2:30 p.m. through the quarter guard gate, which is his official entrance gate.

Others included Rt. Hon. James Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives; the governor of CBN, Mr. Godwin Emefiele; the GCEO of NNPCL, Mr. Kyari; and others.

The president, along with Emefiele, Kyari, Gbajabiamila, Faleke, and others, went right to his office.

Although the meeting's agenda was kept secret, it might have something to do with the elimination of fuel subsidies and the resulting fuel shortage.

It is anticipated that the recent Naira Redesign, the issue of unifying foreign exchange, and other factors will all play a role.
