President-elect Bola Tinubu declared on Thursday in Abuja that he would uphold the faith that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret. ), and millions of Nigerians had placed in him.
He further stated that he is aware of the gravity of
the honor bestowed upon him and the corresponding task that lies ahead.
After receiving the National Honour of Grand Commander
of the Federal Republic at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja, Tinubu made
the pledge in his acceptance speech.
"I am aware of the gravity of the honour
bestowed upon me today and the task at hand. Nigerians ought to expect no less.
He said, "You (Buhari) have set the course, and I will not let you
down."
Tinubu became the 16th recipient of the GCFR
honour on Thursday.
